Supply List

For the past 15 years, I've almost exclusively purchased my art supplies at Jerry's Artarama (aside from when I get canvases from my local Michaels). They represent tons of brands, have high standards, affordable prices, and great customer service. They recently launched their own line of paint called Tuscan and Pine which I'm so excited to try out. If it's as good as they say it is, I will be creating a kit of my favorites for intermediate and professional artists. The following is a list of supplies that I can't do without because they liberate my creativity. Click the Jerry's logo below to see my beginner student list:

Paints

Winsor & Newton / Gamblin

~Alizarin Crimson
~Cadmium Red Light
~Cadmium Yellow Lemon
~Cadmium Yellow Deep

~Ultramarine Blue

~Pthalo Blue

~Green Gold

~Viridian

Rembrandt

~Transparent Red Oxide

Michael Harding

~Brilliant Pink

~Warm White

Canvas

I usually buy canvases at Michaels when they have their buy 1 get 2 free sale. What I love to do is paint a thin layer of shellac (from Home Depot) ontop so I'm painting on a beautiful smooth surface versus the dry canvas surface

Brushes

~Pro Stroke filbert brushes

Solvent

~Gamsol

Palette

~ I've used everything from fancy wooden palettes to a plate of glass. Right now I'm using glass because I love how easy it is to scrape clean.

Paper Towels

~Viva Paper Towel, hands down!

Varnish

~ Gamvar by Gamblin
